Everyone Needs An External Hard Drive

Everyone needs an external Hard drive

This is something I believe not many people may agree with these days. Especially with cloud storage being offered in various forms and mostly free for the average person.

I myself have accounts with both google drive and dropbox. However, I still highly recommend having an external hard drive for the simple fact that you might not always have the internet. While yes I have traveled to some pretty remote places and have typically found the internet almost everywhere I have been. With that in mind, the internet has not always been the best and often very spotty if I even get it at all. The only way to truly guarantee that you will have access to your files is to store them locally.

As an avid traveler and someone who typically brings his laptop with him having ample storage space for any movies, music, and other things for those long flights and bus rides having an external hard drive is the only way to go.

My External hard drive of choice is the Silicon Power external hard drive. This is my hard drive of choice for a few different reasons. While yes it is your older type of hard drive and not a solid state drive, however, it is shock proof and waterproof, unlike your much more expensive solid states. The fact that it is shock proof and water proof make up for the fact that these older hard drives are less reliable because this is military grade and will be able to handle almost anything that you throw at it. I have typically just thrown it into my bag without ever taking care of where I put it and it has for sure taken a few tumbles and still works like new. Traveling through most of southeast Asia is not without its hard rain either.

This hard drive comes with two thicker style cables for being able to withstand more rough handling. One cable is longer and can be stored anywhere but the second cable is very short and has a nice little storage pocket right on the side of the hard drive itself so you will always have a cable wherever you take it.

I honestly can’t speak more highly of this particular hard drive as I have gone through a few different ones before I had come across this great device. It has 2 TB of storage space, and can handle almost anything that you throw at it. This is for sure a hard drive that you can trust and is for sure worth the investment.

Has anyone else used this hard drive, what external hard drive would you recommend?

Please check out the rest of my site and if you have a question about anything please leave a comment or send me an email, I would be happy to hear from you.

Cheers!
