호야 / Hoya – Sushi Restaurant

Sushi Restaurant

호야
Hoya
Sushi Restaurant

I was invited to eat some sushi at a very famous sushi restaurant in Seoul and I highly recommend this place but it is tiny. I was told that on the weekends and for dinner it gets packed but this place is so small it would not take very much for it to be crowded. It is a Japanese-style sushi place which I am sure has been Koreanized but my pallet and sushi recognition aren’t very good so to me it was all Japan.

Outside of the restaurant 호야

As I said this place is tiny. They have opened a second location just down the street, but it's the same restaurant.

This is the inside of the Restaurant, and as you can see, it is tiny.

It is hard to tell from my picture but this restaurant has a bunch of signature cards from Korean celebrities on the right side wall.

We ordered only two plates of Sushi for 15,000 won each. Each plate came with a small bowl of miso soup and cold noodles. The miso soup was pretty good but I have never had an affinity for cold noodles, so I didn’t even touch them. Then for service, they threw in a small salmon salad, and it was pretty good.

As you can see from the pictures above, each fish cut was huge compared to the amount of rice given. If you don’t like traditional sushi, this place might not be for you.

If you find yourself in the Konkuk University area of Seoul I Highly recommend this place.

Unfortunately, the entire menu is in Korean, but I just ordered The B menu, and I was not disappointed.

Just take Exit two from Konkuk University Station, and it is around the corner. It can be a little difficult to find as the place is small.

If you have any questions please feel free to post them in the comments section below.

Cheers!
